Snow Emergency Plan enacted in Wicomico Co.

SALISBURY, Md. – Wicomico County’s Snow Emergency Plan will take effect at 3 p.m. this afternoon.

As part of the emergency plan, a parking ban will be imposed on all snow emergency routes in the county. Vehicles left on the shoulders of roadways along snow emergency routes will be removed/towed. Additionally, the use of snow tires/chains is required (most cars now use all-weather tires, so officials say changing to “snow” tires is unnecessary).

Police and state highway officials are asking motorists to only drive if necessary. While on the roadway, please use caution, reduce speed, and be on the lookout for emergency crews attempting to assist other motorists.

Officials will provide an update when the Snow Emergency Plan is lifted.
