Serious crash shuts down Millsboro road, police investigating

MILLSBORO, Del. – A Fatal crash is under investigation in Millsboro.

We’re told the crash happened at around 1:10 p.m. Monday on Hollyville Road, south of Harmony Cemetery Road. As a result, Hollyville Road between Harmony Cemetery Road and Lawson   Road were closed for over three hours.

An Initial investigation found that a 17 year-old driving a Jeep Liberty with a 13 year-old in the passenger seat was was heading north on Hollyville Rd.,  the same time freightliner truck traveling   on southbound.

The driver of the Jeep then lost control of the car, crossing lanes and getting hit on the passenger side causing the truck to drive off the road into a tree.

The 17 year-old  Jeep driver was taken to Beebe hospital and treated for minor injuries while the 13-year-old was pronounced deceased at the scene.
