Salisbury man behind bars following drug investigation
SALISBURY, Md. – A drug investigation led to numerous charges for a Salisbury man earlier this month.
We’re told on January 12th, surveillance was established was 44-year-old Tony Davis’ residence following an investigation into the distribution of controlled dangerous substances. Davis was seen leaving in a vehicle with a juvenile and three other adults. The vehicle then traveled to the Save-A-Lot parking lot in Salisbury where Davis was seen conducting a drug investigation with another person.
Police then stopped the vehicle, at which point a juvenile fled immediately. Members of the Salisbury Police Department located the juvenile quickly and placed him under arrest. A loaded 9mm semi-automatic handgun was located on the flight path of the juvenile. We’re told the juvenile was arrested and charged with weapon-related offenses as an adult and released to the Wicomico County Detention Center.
Deputies then tried to detain Davis, who reportedly became combative and fought with deputies while resisting arrest. Davis was found in possession of three bags of cocaine, 101 wax bags containing heroin, 82 capsules containing a suspected heroin/fentanyl mix, and 7 hydromorphone hydrochloride pills.
Davis was arrested and held without bond. He faces more than 20 charges, including second degree assault, illegal possession of ammunition, disorderly conduct, obstructing and hindering, and numerous drug-related charges.
On January 26th, the Wicomico County Grand Jury returned indictments for the juvenile and Davis with additional charges.
