Maryland’s COVID-19 positivity rate drops below 10%, Gov. Hogan says
ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Maryland’s COVID-19 positivity rate has dropped below 10%, according to Governor Larry Hogan.
Since peaking earlier this month just below 30%, the state’s positivity rate has declined by nearly 70% and is currently at 9.04%. Maryland is reporting the country’s 5th lowest positivity rate, and continues to report the lowest case rate of any state in the nation.
Hospitalizations peaked earlier this month at 3,462 and continue declining rapidly, now at 1,716. Governor Hogan says the state’s hospitalizations are dropping at the fastest rate in the country.
The governor adds that nearly 95% of the state’s adults have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccination. The state has administered more than 11 million vaccinations, including more than 2 million boosters.
