Insider Interview: Parkside Football Head Coach Brendan Riley

SALISBURY, Md. – Parkside High School Head Football Coach Brendan Riley has been named as one of the coaches for the Big 33 Football Classic, one of the nation’s most prestigious High School All-Star Games. Riley, whose Parkside Rams are consistently one of the football powers in the Bayside Conference, will serve as Team Maryland’s offensive line coach in the game to be played on Memorial Day, May 30th 2022 at Bishop McDevitt High School Stadium in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

“It’s a tremendous honor being selected as a representative from Wicomico County and Parkside High School and it’s a tribute to all the young men and families that have made coaching with the RAMFAM such an extremely special experience”, said Coach Riley. “The Big 33 is a wonderful event and represents the best of the best from the states of Maryland and Pennsylvania. I look forward to coaching with the entire staff and want to thank Dematha Coach Bill McGregor, Coach Duvall and Coach Ripley for their leadership and involvement in this game. I am honored to be selected as a coach and look forward to representing the Eastern Shore”, Riley concluded.

The Big 33 Football Classic features the top high school football players in Maryland and Pennsylvania. The game has been played annually since 1957 and has often been described as the “Super Bowl” of high school football. Over $2 million in academic scholarships have been awarded as a result of the game and its sponsors. Some notable alumni of the Big 33 game include Ben Roethlisberger, Micah Hyde, Ted Ginn, Jr., Dan Marino, Joe Montana, Tony Dorsett and Joe Namath.
