Highmark announces options for members to receive over-the-counter COVID tests

DELMARVA- Highmark Inc. said they’ll reimburse their customers for over-the-counter COVID-19 tests starting Monday.

In an effort to comply with federal guidelines ,the insurance provider will cover the cost of up to 8 take-home tests per month.

Highmark also said starting Monday they will be using their existing pharmacy network to provide the tests.

“The key pieces is that we are using our in network pharmacies, that those claims will be processed under a prescription drug benefit, members should use their insurance card or prescription drug card,” Bob Wanovich, VP of Provider Strategy, said.

Highmark also said customers can acquire the take-home tests by ordering them online.

To receive reimbursement, members must submit a claim form through the mail or online.
