Fire heavily damages Delmar home, cause under investigation

DELMAR, Del. – A house in Delmar sustained heavy damage following a fire Wednesday morning.

We’re told the fire was reported shortly after 8 a.m. in the 14000 block of Line Road. Firefighters with the Delmar Fire Department responded to the scene, finding smoke and flames coming from a single family dwelling. The home was occupied at the time of the fire, but officials say the occupant was able to escape uninjured.

State fire investigators have determined that the fire began in the garage area of the home, but the cause remains under investigation. Damage has been estimated at $150,000.
