Atlantic General Hospital to bring new walk-in crisis care center

BERLIN, Md.- Starting January 31,  Atlantic General will bring a crisis care clinic for all ages to it’s hospital.

This grant funded walk-in clinic will bring behavioral health resources.

The hospital will work with community partners to offer real-time connection with resources located on site.

We’re told this crisis care model is significant as they have seen a big need for these services in emergency departments and outpatients areas.

“Our intention is to connect everyone to the level of care and the resources that they need so while we may not be able to provide the level of care that someone needs that come in we will make sure we facilitate getting that level of care what we will have on site is we are going to triage, provide observation, assessments, determine what level of care is appropriate,” Tina Simmons, Director of Population Health at Atlantic General Hospital, said.

This site will be open Monday through Friday from 8 to 4:30 p.m.

They will be providing care for adolescent patients from 5 years-old and older.
