Whaleyville house fire claims life of one, investigation underway

WHALEYVILLE, Md. – The Worcester County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating a fatal house fire that broke out Monday afternoon.

We’re told a neighbor reported the fire at around 2:40 p.m., at 11519 Sheppard’s Crossing Road. The neighbor reportedly entered the burning home and rescued the sole occupant. Berlin Fire Company personnel arrived on scene and located the victim, and resuscitation efforts for initiated. The victim was taken to TidalHealth in Salisbury where she unfortunately died from her injuries.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
