New Year’s Day will be cloudy with periods of rain through the first half of the day. Highs will be in the mid to upper 60s, but it may take a while to get there. Temperatures will slowly climb, with the warmest temperatures occurring after sunset. Sunday remains cloudy with highs in the low to mid 60s. Rain is possible for the morning hours with breezy winds returning during the day. Right now, models are hinting at rain changing to snow and sleet late Sunday night, and continuing into part of Monday. The forecast is still very uncertain at this time, but there is an increased chance this could be Delmarva’s first measurable snow of the season. Monday will be breezy and cold with highs in the mid and upper 30s. A wintry mix is possible for the first half of the day. Tuesday, sunny skies can be expected with highs in the low 40s.
Highs are up to the upper 40s and lower 50s on Wednesday under mostly sunny skies. Thursday will be partly sunny with highs in the low 50s and the chance for showers.
Temperatures quickly fall behind a cold front on Friday with partly sunny skies and a chance for early showers.
