Three Delmarva colleges to receive funding from Nurse Support Program

Nurse Shortage

MARYLAND – The Maryland Higher Education Commission has announced $2.3 million in new nursing faculty fellowships through the Nurse Support Program II.

We’re told there are 46 newly nominated nursing faculty that received the New Nursing Faculty Fellowship and will be awarded a total of $50,000 over a five-year period ($10,000 per year). Additionally, 122 previously awarded nurse faculty received their ongoing disbursements of $10,000 each based on continued full-time employment in good standing.

These awards were in response to 64 nomination requests from the Deans and Directors of Nursing Programs at nine Maryland universities and nine community colleges. Locally, Chesapeake College, Salisbury University, and Wor-Wic Community College will receive awards from this program.
