Several COVID data points still missing from Md. Health Department website following cyberattack

BALTIMORE, Md. – More than a week after a cyberattack caused the Maryland Department of Health to take its website offline, several COVID-19 data points are reportedly still missing from the department’s website.

We’re told the daily COVID-19 hospitalization statistics have returned, with a significant increase in volume since the website stopped reporting other numbers, including a daily case count, death toll, testing volume, and positivity rate. State data also shows that hospital bed occupancy has gone up nearly 45% since December 3rd.

Governor Larry Hogan says data hasn’t been compromised, however, the data remained incomplete on Monday and officials have not yet said why metrics remain outdated or when they might return.
