Police investigation fatal crash in Georgetown

GEORGETOWN, Del. – Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal crash that left one person dead Thursday afternoon.

On December 23, around 1:30 pm, police say a Honda Civic was traveling westbound on Vaughn Road nearing a sharp right curve. Police tell us, the driver attempted to make the turn but overcorrected to the left causing the car to skid and strike a tree.

Police say the driver and a 53-year-old passenger were not properly restrained and were transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.

Meanwhile, the 31-year-old front-seat passenger was also not properly restrained. They were taken to a nearby hospital where they were sadly pronounced dead.

The crash remains under investigation.
