“It’s just so wonderful:” Giving Tuesday reach record breaking numbers

DELMARVA – Yesterday, was Giving Tuesday and it was successful for Delmarva non-profits as they hit record-breaking numbers.

The Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore’s online campaign, The Shore Gives More, raised in total $300,249 dollars for non-profits. The campaign allowed people to learn about the 121 non-profits and donate.

The president of the foundation said this year’s total far exceed last year’s and they couldn’t be more proud.

“It’s just so wonderful to know that every single of those dollars is immediately going to work in our community, here on the lower eastern shore, and it also means that every single person who visited that site has the chance to support their favorite nonprofits, but also to learn a little bit about some of the other work that’s happening,” Erica Joseph, the Community Foundation President, said.

The Community Foundation said Habitat for Humanity of Wicomico County received the most money.

They’re also thankful for all the organizations, donors, sponsors that participated in this year’s Giving Tuesday because without them this wouldn’t be possible.
