DOC suspends in-person visitations temporarily

DOVER, Del.- The Department of Correction announced Thursday for the third time they are suspending in-person visitations.

This goes into effect at the end of the day Friday.

The DOC is temporarily suspending in-person visitation to all of its level 5 prison and level 4 work release and violation of probation facilities.

They’re doing it as a precaution to protect inmates and staff from COVID-19 , as transmission rates in the community are going up.

Inmates will have the option of phone and video visitation.

The suspension of in-person visitation will be reviewed on a regular basis.
