Veterans Day ceremonies across Delmarva
DELMARVA – Veterans Day is a day all about honoring those who served our country, and here locally there are a few events happening that you can get involved in.
In Salisbury, the Veterans Day ceremony at the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center kicks off at 11 a.m. and will include music, prayer, and remembrance.
At 1 p.m., Salisbury University will host its own ceremony at Holloway Hall. Speakers will include Mayor Jake Day and U.S. Army Reservist and student Julia Mohr.
Worcester County will be holding a ceremony beginning at 11 a.m. at the Worcester County Veterans Memorial in Ocean Pines.
In Delaware, Senator Tom Carper will be in Seaford, meeting with veteran small business owners.
In addition to local ceremonies, the University of Maryland Eastern Shore and Salisbury Area of Chamber of Commerce will host “A Salute to our Veterans Gala” beginning with a cocktail reception at 6 p.m. and dinner following at 7 p.m. More on that event can be found here.
