Thursday evening convenience store robbery under investigation

DOVER, Del. – Dover Police are investigating an armed robbery at a convenience store.

We’re told just after 7:30 p.m. Thursday, an unknown male suspect entered the Dover Express convenience store, located at 131 Saulsbury Road, as an employee was closing it. The suspect then allegedly pulled out a firearm, forced the employee behind the counter, and took an unknown amount of cash from two registers before shoving the employee and fleeing.

The suspect is described as a male, wearing a black knit hat with a deadlock wig, black glasses, a tan Dickies jacket, tan pants, and tan work boots. He was also reportedly riding a blue bicycle. The bike, tan jacket, and hat/wig were located nearby as officers searched for the suspect.

The 40-year-old male victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
