The Kicks 4 Shoe Drive: More than 200 new shoes given out to Glen Avenue Elementary students
SALISBURY, Md.- More than 200 pairs of brand new shoes were given out to Glen Avenue Elementary School students Monday afternoon.
Cars lined up for the drive-thru event called The Kicks 4 Shoe Drive. The school partnered with Lift Church to give students shoes and food boxes. We’re told this is the first event they’ve had like this, and they feel it was important to do to support students and their success in academics.
“In order, to do that we need to hug them all the way around to be prepared for school with their clothing, with their bellies full anything to help them be better successful with their day at school is what we aim to do,” Kyle Beebe, the Community Program Coordinator, said.
The event ended at 4 p.m. , and if students weren’t able to get their shoe size, money was also donated through the Community Foundation and other donors for the school to buy shoes for those students
