New digital program at Boys and Girls Club, helping teens with college process
DELAWARE – The Boys and Girls Club is launching a new digital program for teens and families.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Navient announced this program will help their teens and families learn about financial aid and how to pay for college. We’re told they are trying to provide more opportunities to help kids believe in themselves. They said this new program is providing families with a leg up, especially for first-generation college students.
“That’s really a primary target because the first time through is so critical and that’s where a lot of kids officially just don’t even make the attempt because it looks so daunting,” Chris Basher, Chief Operating Officer of the Boys and Girls Club of Delaware, said.
We’re told the specific program they are launching has six parts, including college costs, financial aid, the FASFA process, scholarships, and student loans.
