CFES prepares for giving Tuesday, helping over 100 local non-profit organizations
SALISBURY, Md. – The Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore (CFES) is preparing for their Lower Shore’s giving Tuesday event on November, 30th.
This year, we’re told the event is helping a record-breaking 121 local non-profits. This online campaign sponsors non-profits from humane societies, veteran-related organizations like Operation We Care, as well as Ocean City non-profits. The non-profits are vetted and CFES makes sure they’re all legitimate so donors can rest assured their money is going to a great cause.
We’re told after the tumultuous times many have faced the last year or so, this year’s giving Tuesday is that much more important for these organizations.
“Having all of this come together during an event like this, really strengthens the community as a whole, not just that one non-profit, but the ripple of the impact that just a single donation can make across our community,” says CFES’s marketing officer, Victoria Kent. She adds, “Things as basic as feeding the hungry, giving shelter to the homeless, a lot of things that without donors generosity, are not going to be possible.”
Kent tells 47 ABC, the support they’ve received over the years is tremendous, and she thanks their sponsors for continuing to get the word out about their event each year.
The online campaign allows donors to schedule a gift before giving Tuesday. You can donate, or find more information on the event on their website.
