Cambridge Police investigating fatal shooting

CAMBRIDGE, Md. – Cambridge Police are investigating a shooting that left one dead Sunday afternoon.

Police say gunshots were heard on the 600 block of Greenwood Ave. Officers then proceeded to the 500 block where a man with a gun was shooting and then ran from the scene.

After a brief foot chase, officers arrested the suspect, identified as 25-year-old Jai’Choaun Woolford of Easton.

Officers then located a male victim, identified as  18-year-old Jihad Y. Brown, in the 500 block of Greenwood Avenue on the ground with multiple gunshots wounds. Brown was flown to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma in Baltimore where police say he died due to his injuries.

There was a second victim who was shot in the arm and taken to the hospital to be treated and was released.

Woolford is being held without bond on multiple charges, including first and second degree murder.
