Suspect arrested for attempted robbery of Dover convenience store
SALISBURY, Md. – Police have arrested a man in connection with an attempted robbery that took place earlier this week.
Shortly after midnight Tuesday, a suspect walked into the Royal Farms located at 295 S. DuPont Highway and approached the cashier while acting as if he had a handgun and demanded money from the register. The cashier refused, and the suspect fled on foot.
At around 10 p.m. that same day, officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of 461 N. DuPont Highway, and found that the driver, identified as Michael Wright, matched the description of the suspect in this attempted robbery. During the search of the vehicle, police found an article of clothing matching clothing worn by the suspect during the incident.
Wright was subsequently taken into custody and charged with first degree attempted robbery and wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony. He was issued a $600 cash bail.
