Salisbury non-profit in need of volunteers before opening November 6th

SALISBURY, Md.- In Salisbury, a new non-profit will be opening its doors soon and in order to make it happen, they’re asking for the community’s help.

Hands and Hearts Ending Homelessness is opening November 6th. In the past, they held a shelter open for 3 months, but this year due to high demands they will be open for 6 months. But, with being open longer and current evictions we’re told they’ll need more hands on deck.

“We also need meal donations, you can prepare a meal and bring the meal there and help serve and we’ll serve with it,” Walter Davidson, with Hands and Hearts Ending Homelessness, said.

“As of two weeks ago there were 60 homeless guys on the street and with the evictions, moratorium being lifted right now we have well over 100 in just a week,” Davidson said.

The shelter said they need overnight male volunteers from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. They are also looking for non-CDL bus drivers to help pick up and drop off the men in Salisbury.
