Wor-Wic 5K run, walk coming back for it’s 10th anniversary in October

SALISBURY, Md.-  Wor-Wic Community College is gearing up for their 5K run and walk in October.

Last year, the race was tabled due to COVID-19.

But this year,  it’s coming back for it’s 10th anniversary on October 2nd, with the race beginning at the college.

We are told the money raised benefits the Wor-Wic Foundation, which is money that goes right back to the students tuition.

This money could be especially helpful for students, as the COVID-19 pandemic continues.

“I think in our personal lives we have all been to experience there’s inflation whether it’s gas prices, medical prices, tuition prices for school so whatever we can do to be able to support the students and keep tuition low would be a benefit,” Kelley Selph, Race Co-Director, said.

The race begins at 9 a.m on October 2nd, but registration opens at 8 a.m.

We’re told the awards ceremony has been moved outside due to the pandemic.
