TidalHealth Peninsula Regional temporarily relocates monoclonal antibody infusions to outside tent

SALISBURY, Md. – TidalHealth Peninsula Regional has temporarily moved its monoclonal antibody infusion treatment out of the Emergency Department to a tent outside near the walk-in entrance.

We’re told this relocation will allow the Emergency Department staff to expand space and beds and address increasing volumes.

The monoclonal antibody infusion treatment is a lab-created protein that mimics immune system antibodies that block viruses, helping to neutralize the virus and reduce the risk of developing severe COVID symptoms.

If a person tests positive for COVID-19 and feels that the infusion could help them, they should consult with their primary care provider, who can help determine if they are a good candidate. Their primary care doctor must then refer them for treatment, and the patient will be contacted to schedule an appointment.

TidalHealth officials note that this tent is not for COVID testing or vaccination, nor is it a walk-up clinic.
