SU see high vaccination rates among students and faculty

SALISBURY, Md. – On Thursday morning, Salisbury University held a COVID-19 update to discuss the university’s current vaccination status.

We’re told, as of today 93% of all students enrolled at SU and 95% of all University employees are at least partially vaccinated. However, those who have issued exemptions from the University of Maryland Vaccination mandate will continue twice weekly testing for the rest of the semester.

The president of the university says SU is one of the safest places in Maryland when it comes to COVID-19, now that their campus vaccination rate is higher than every Maryland county.

President Charles Wight tells us, because of student and faculty commitment, things are slowly getting back to normal on campus. “We’ve had fans at Sea Gull Stadium and other athletic venues to cheer on our student-athletes. We’ve been able to hold events on campus for our students and members of the community,” says Wight.
