Somerset school officials address COVID-19 numbers

SOMERSET CO., Md. – Somerset County Schools have been rumored to have a spike in COVID cases as students headed back to school last week.

We’re told as of August 30th, a total of 34 students in the county have tested positive for COVID-19. 132 students have been required to quarantine due to exposure from another student.

Somerset County Schools announced a few weeks prior that they would not require masks for students and staff this school year, however, state officials will review the mask mandate on September 14th, and Somerset school officials say they expect that the mask mandate will be approved.
