Pfizer booster shots now available through Worcester Co. Health Department for eligible individuals
SNOW HILL, Md. – The Worcester County Health Department says COVID-19 vaccine boosters are now available for eligible individuals.
At this time, only the Pfizer vaccine is approved for use as a booster, meaning individuals will need to have received the two doses of Pfizer as well as meet the following qualifications:
- People 65 years and older and residents in long-term care settings should receive a booster at least six months after their second shot
- People age 50 to 64 with underlying medical conditions should receive a booster at least six months after their second shot
- People age 18 to 49 with underlying medical conditions may receive a booster at least six months after their second shot, based on their individual benefits and risks
- People age 18 to 64 who are at increased risk for COVID-19 exposure and transmission due to occupational or institutional settings may receive a booster at least six months after their second shot, based on their individual benefits and risks
Those receiving boosters should bring their vaccination card for proof of two doses of Pfizer in the past.
