New portal allows easy access to vaccination records
DELAWARE – Have you misplaced or lost your COVID-19 vaccine card?
Well for Delawareans, there’s a new tool that’ll help you keep track of them.
The DelVax portal allows you to go online and print a copy of your vaccination record.
Users type in basic identity information including name and date of birth.
We’re told some workplaces and restaurants are starting to require vaccine proof, and that’s why it was important to get this helpful tool out to the community.
The portal currently has a 35% success rate and it isn’t limited to COVID vaccine records. “In August and September when kids are going back to school, they may have to provide an immunization record to the school to make sure they’re up to date and this is a much easier way to do it,” Delaware Immunization Program Director Jim Talbott. “We’ve got a lot more people in the state that could get access and it’s available to them any time they want it.”
Moving forward, we’re told they’re looking into a QR code option which would allow vaccine proof digitally.
A number of states use similar information systems including Colorado and Kansas.
