Man arrested for stealing motorcycle in Rehoboth

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. – A Delaware man is behind bars after he reportedly stole a motorcycle early Wednesday morning.

According to police, a report came in at around 1:40 a.m. regarding an unknown male suspect stealing a 2009 Yamaha 125cc motorcycle that was parked in the parking lot of The Pond, located at 19266 Coastal Highway in Rehoboth Beach. Through investigative leads, police were able to identify 32-year-old Shawn Hinkle as the suspect who was seen on video surveillance stealing the motorcycle.

Troopers responded to a residence in the 32000 block of Lewes-Georgetown Highway, where they located the stolen vehicle. Hinkle was also located at the residence and subsequently taken into custody and charged with felony theft of a motor vehicle.

Hinkle was committed to SCI on a $2,000 secured bond.
