“Love Day” Event: Berlin community celebrating big accomplishment of repainted basketball courts
BERLIN, Md. – A group of Berlin locals will soon be putting on an event this month to celebrate a big milestone.
Leaders in the community have been trying to repaint the basketball courts at Dr. William Henry Park. Now, they are planning to celebrate with the community on September 26th. There will be games, food, music, a court dedication, and basketball games.
We’re told it will also make up for missed celebrated holidays that didn’t happen due to the pandemic.
“Celebrating the newly renovated basketball courts that we are going to paint and also have new back boards and new rims and ultimately celebrating the people in the community, we haven’t had a memorial day in a couple of years due to COVID, but I think this celebration will be right on time,” Adrian Bowen, We Heart Berlin Board Member, said.
Again, the celebration will happen on September 26th, with the first basketball game starting at 1 p.m. They are looking for donations and volunteers for the basketball games. You can find more information to volunteer by clicking here.
We are told they are looking for kids in grades 7-12 for one of the games.
