Local organization expands outreach efforts with new community center, aims to keep kids and parents active
SALISBURY, Md.- In Salisbury, one local organization is expanding its mission of serving the community by opening its very own performance center.
The Shore United Performance Center aims to bring unity to the community, all while staying active. Many interactive classes will be offered including Zumba, Yoga, and Hip-Hop dance.
Founder TJ Bryant tells 47ABC that although their focus is on the youth of the community, it was important to make the center accessible for parents as well.
He says true health is created in the whole family unit. “I know a lot of times we get so caught up in our kid’s schedule, we let ourselves go. This is kind of a way that we don’t have to. You can drop your son off or your daughter for a class and you can take one as well,” said Bryant. “I just felt like it was a golden opportunity for me to truly come back home, where I’m from.”
The official grand opening of the center will be in late September.
Shore United also hosts flag football for ages 3-7 years old Friday nights.
