Local golf club holding event to support Marine hurt in Afghanistan

DELAWARE- A golf club is raising funds for a Marine who was hurt badly in Afghanistan.

The Bayside Resort Golf Club will be offering a golf clinic to support Sergeant Tyler Vargas-Andrews.

Back on August 26th he was hurt in Afghanistan and is in critical condition at a hospital.

Now, the golf club wants to raise money to donate to the Marine for his medical expenses.

“My son’s best friend, a sergeant in the marine corps unit came under attack in Kabul, Afghanistan recently and a young sergeant by the name of Tyler Vargas-Andrews was injured quite severely and is fighting for his life at Walter Reed Hospital with multiple amputees, so I’d like to do a golf clinic to contribute to his go-fund-me page, Bob Crowther, PGA, Director of Golf, said.

During the golf clinic, the resort will be giving out lessons.

You don’t have to pre-register for the clinic.

It will be on October 25th from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
