Gulls drop historic matchup with Wisconsin-Whitewater
Warhawks reel off 17 straight points in second half
SALISBURY, Md- Dubbed the biggest regular season game in program history–the Salisbury University football team fell to six-time Division III champion Wisconsin-Whitewater 31-14 on Saturday afternoon.
Warhawks quarterback Max Meylor threw for 227 yards and 4 touchdowns. Whitewater receiver Ryan Wisniewski finished with 5 receptions for 129 yards and two touchdowns.
For Salisbury–quarterback Jack Lanham totaled 149 yards of total offense, with one rushing touchdown and one interception. Gulls senior safety Sean Carroll returned a fumble 45-yards for a touchdown late in the fourth.
After a bye week, Salisbury football will be back at home on Saturday, September 25th, hosting Western New England.
