Former Wicomico Day School employee charged with felony theft

SALISBURY, Md. – A former employee of a Salisbury school has been charged with felony theft following an investigation.

We’re told the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint on August 25th from the owner of Wicomico Day School who had discovered numerous charges/purchases made on credit cards issued to the business. It was reported that these items were not approved by the school and were not purchased for the school.

The school provided financial documents to detectives and a former employee, 49-year-old Jennifer Coady, was identified as the person who made the purchases. Investigators determined that the charges occurred between January 2017 and July 2021, and the total estimated value of the theft is $20,643.13.

During a search and seizure warrant, detectives recovered several of the purchased items.

Coady was served on Wednesday with theft $10,000 to $25,000 and theft scheme $10,000 to $25,000 charges.
