Fire damages Lewes home
LEWES, Del. – Delaware State fire marshals are conducting an investigation into a house fire that happened over the weekend.
We’re told the fire broke out shortly before 8:30 a.m. Sunday, in the 17000 block of Chatham Street. Lewes firefighters responded to the scene and placed the blaze under control with the help of mutual aid fire companies.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Total damage has been estimated at $50,000. The home was occupied at the time of the fire, however, we’re told the occupant escaped without injury. There were no other reported injuries.
