Felton man arrested after leading police on pursuit
FELTON, Del. – A Laurel man was arrested after he reportedly failed to stop for police in Felton Thursday afternoon.
We’re told just after 4:30 p.m., an officer with the Felton Police Department tried to stop a vehicle for speeding 87 mph in a posted 45 mph zone on Route 13. The suspect vehicle failed to stop and continued accelerating to speeds over 100 mph. Police discontinued the pursuit a short time later.
Through investigative measures, police were able to identify the driver as 32-year-old Joshua Cannon and obtained warrants for his arrest. Delaware State Police came in contact with Cannon on Thursday for a terroristic threatening call in which he was the suspect. He was taken into custody and charged with disregarding a police officer signal, driving while suspended or revoked, malicious mischief by a motor vehicle, reckless driving, failure to remain in a single lane, operating a vehicle with improper window tint, and other traffic related offenses.
Cannon was arrained and later released after posting a $2,700 secured bail pending a future court date.
