Deer tests positive for rabies in Rehoboth Beach
REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. – Delaware health officials announced on Friday that a deer in the Rehoboth Beach area has tested positive for rabies.
Officials are specifically advising residents who live or spend time in the vicinity of Kings Creek Circle and Road 273. We’re told the deer was removed from a residential property on September 1st and tested for rabies, which gave a positive result on Wednesday.
Anyone who thinks they may have been bitten, scratched, or come in physical contact with a white-tailed deer in this area is urged to immediately contact their health care provider or call the DPH Rabies Program at 302-744-4995. A
