Traditionally, the pop-up car rally takes place the last week in September.

So, events like these are an all hands on deck situation.

Sheriff Crisafulli said they are already planning- in case the Ocean City Police Department needs their help.

This includes adjusting scheduling and exploring the option of Worcester County as a special event zone, which is normally something that’s within different city limits.

“My office is adjusting schedules to maximize man power to ensure the safety of all law enforcement personnel and our residents and visitors,” Sheriff Matt Crisafulli, with Worcester County, said.

“The special event zones will increase traffic fines, and certain traffic offenses arrest able and that’s discretion able amongst the law enforcement officer,” Sheriff Crisafulli said.

If a special events zone is put into place for Worcester County,  they will let people know beforehand.

Sheriff Crisafulli said with loosened COVID-19 restrictions we may see more visitors at the event something they’re preparing for.
