Worcester County GOLD looking for donors, supplies for School Supplies Program

WORCESTER COUNTY- A Worcester non-profit is looking for help with donations when it comes to school supplies.

Worcester County GOLD has been running the School Supplies for Students program for over 20 years.

Working with local partners they are able to fill backpacks with supplies and give them to families who may be having tough times financially.

We’re told last year they gave about 288 backpacks, but they feel the need will be greater this time around with more kids going back to school.

“We know that fortune favors the prepared and for some students through no fault of their own their parents are unable to meet that need,” Nicholas Cranford, the Executive Director, said. “Anything we can do to ease this transition back into the schools to make it easier for the students and really that’s our job support wherever its needed in the community.”

We are told right now, they are looking for disinfectant wipes, large backpacks, water bottles, and headphones.

You have until August 27th to donate supplies.

We are told you can go the Worcester GOLD website to learn more about donating.
