Worcester Co. Schools say they are highly recommending masks but not requiring them

WORCESTER CO., Md. – As the school year approaches, all eyes have been on guidelines for COVID safety.

Last week, Delaware issued a mask mandate in schools, as did Wicomico County in Maryland. Other counties like Dorchester, Somerset, and Talbot, all say they will recommend masks but not mandate them.

Schools in Worcester County tell us they are still following the guidance they issued at the beginning of July, where masks are highly recommended by not required for staff and students.

They couldn’t rule out any changes to that guidance before school starts, but for now, that will be the guidance they are offering parents and staff.
