Wicomico Co. Schools announce mask mandate starting Wednesday

WICOMICO CO., Md. – Starting tomorrow, August 11th, all staff, students, and visitors to Wicomico County Public Schools must wear masks indoors.

This requirement is based on recommendations by the CDC, Maryland Department of Health, and Wicomico County Health Department. Masks continue to be required on school transportation as well in accordance with federal guidelines.

Superintendent Dr. Donna Hanlin says the school system will continue to evaluate the COVID-19 metrics for Wicomico County and revisit these masking rules if the numbers drop to low or moderate levels, rather than substantial or high, which is the current level.
