Shady pines set to welcome back residents, after over a year of closure

SALISBURY, Md. – One medical facility will be celebrating their reopening on Monday, August 16th, after being closed for over a year. Those with the Shady Pines Center say, they’re finally welcoming back residents, and they couldn’t be happier.

Shady Pines is an adult medical day care which we’re told offers daily care to individuals with disabilities ages 16 and up, as well as the elderly. Medical professional with the center tells 47 ABC, even though having to close down took them by surprise, they found other ways to stay in touch with their clients and work on some upgrades.

We’re told the facility has a new roof, new software, and new ways to communicate. Which staff says, is a key component in moving forward with the facility. “We have connected with family members in a way that we probably wouldn’t have otherwise,” says a licensed nurse at Shady Pines Center, Theresa Clegg. She adds, “A lot of the changes are personal and very positive and so that will help going forward, help open the communication lines better.”

The Shady Pines Center does officially open on Monday from nine to three p.m.

If you want to learn more about the facility or how you or a loved one can attend, just call (443) 523-0050 for more information.
