New Ocean City program could help town identify short term rental properties
OCEAN CITY, Md.- The Ocean City council gave the green light to continue moving forward with the planning of a new program.
The program is called AirDNA.
We’re told it was was presented by the Tourism Director.
It will allow the town to identify the locations of short term rental properties and help the town cross check that Airbnb property owners have rental licenses and are paying room tax.
“So, all in all its a package it will all work together just to help us be more efficient, to identify where our visitors are coming from, where we need to advertise where we’re not and also identify where those short term rentals are located to help us collect the room tax,” Mayor Rick Meehan said.
Mayor Rick Meehan said the program is all part of the new efforts the town is putting forth to better understand visitors and calculate revenue.
