Local basketball camp aims to keep kids active, teach fundamental skills

SALISBURY, MD.- As summer comes to an end, Salisbury’s Community Relations Division is aiming to keep kids active with a free basketball program.

The city is holding a Speed & Agility Basketball Clinic at the Truitt Street Community Center.

There kids participating in the four-week program will learn the fundamentals of basketball like dribbling, balance, and speed performance.

Instructor and Movement specialist Vincent Stewart, who’s worked with college and professional athletes, says its never too early to get your little one passionate about sports and this is the perfect opportunity to keep them active. “COVID kept everybody in the house for a long time so this is just keeping kids active,” said Stewart.

“It’s all the same. As long as you keep active and they have a love for the sport and for the game, its all the same thing.”

The clinic is offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays through September 9th.

We’re told it’s still not late to register your child, just visit www/salisbury.md/registration
