“It makes us feel really good:” Berlin Commons gaining popularity, owner excited for the future
BERLIN, Md.- In Berlin, it seems after a few weeks of being fully open the new community green space, known as the Berlin Commons, is a hit.
Brett Hines, one of the owners and operators of this space that holds events and outdoor dining, said since having their soft opening in June the place has really evolved.
They’ve added fencing, cloth shading, lights, landscaping, and parking spaces for bikes and strollers.
We’re told the community is responding well to the project and they’re seeing a large turnout.
People are also enjoying the green space by bringing their local carryout dishes to eat there.
All things Hines said he’s grateful to see.
“It makes us feel really good especially because we are residents too so its not like we built a project and a place we will never use its really fun because its our neighbors that we see out there and everybody just keeps telling us its just bringing the community closer together,” Hines said.
Hines said the Berlin Commons is thinking about plans for the Fall.
They want to find a solution for heat, such as fire pits, so people can still come out and enjoy the space.
They are also looking forward to Berlin events that they can be a part of like the Fiddlers Convention, Small Town Throw Down, and Oktoberfest.
