Former Police Chief announces candidacy for Somerset Co. Sheriff, says focus will be on public safety
CRISFIELD, MD.- Former Pocomoke City Police Chief Lee Brumley announced his candidacy for Somerset County Sheriff.
Supporters gathered tonight as Brumley talked about many issues he’d like to address.
His platform involves strengthening the sheriff’s office’s ties with the community, supporting the youth, and public safety.
Brumley tells 47ABC his four decades of law enforcement experience and dedication to the county’s success is what he’ll bring to the role if elected. “A lot of the kids coming up, I want them to know that the police are their friends and not their enemy,” said Brumley.
“And just letting the citizens of Somerset know that safety is a priority and that it will be a priority.”
Brumley served over eight years with the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office.
The Somerset County Sheriff election is set for November 2022.
