Blooming Lotus Project provides kids with creative therapy, first on the Eastern Shore

SALISBURY, Md. – A new therapeutic program focused on children’s mental health kids had it’s grand opening debut at the personal wellness center on Thursday afternoon.

The Blooming Lotus Project is Eastern Shore’s first comprehensive expressive therapy mental health and PRP program. We’re told it’s a creative intervention program intended to help children grow and develop innovation and resilience.

The project incorporates music, movement and dance, art therapy, storytelling, creative writing, yoga and much more. Program coordinators tell us, it’s all about helping children learn proper coping skills in a more creative environment. Venessa Bowers, Director of the Blooming Lotus Project says, “One of the greatest thing we could to experience today and every day that we work with kids is the wonder in their faces when they come into this space, it’s such a beautiful place for them and it’s all about them.” She adds, “To allow children to really experience the world in safety and learn how to process when information gets difficult for them.”

We’re also told, anyone is eligible to come and participate with their children. The personal wellness center also goes out into the community to implement some of their therapeutic activities.
