47 ABC named National Edward R. Murrow award winner

SALISBURY, Md. –

On Tuesday the Radio Television Digital News Association named 47 ABC (WMDT) a 2021 National Edward R. Murrow Award winner. The award was given in the category of Excellence in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for a series called Breaking the Stigma: Fighting for Acceptance. In the series, Julian Sadur speaks with members of the LGBTQIA community to hear about their search for acceptance.

RTDNA has been honoring outstanding achievements in electronic journalism with the Edward R. Murrow Awards since 1971. Murrow’s pursuit of excellence in journalism embodies the spirit of the awards that carry his name. Murrow Award recipients demonstrate the spirit of excellence that Edward R. Murrow made a standard for the broadcast news profession.

Earlier this year 47 ABC (WMDT) was awarded two Regional Edward R. Murrow awards.
