Zach Williams concert canceled, but fireworks set to make up for it

HARRINGTON, Del. – At the Delaware State Fair, the headline performer, Zach Williams, had to cancel his concert set for Saturday night, the last night of the fair.

According to fair organizers, Williams contracted COVID and will be unable to perform. Fireworks were set for after the show, but they decided to move the fireworks to Friday night after the ’38 Special’ concert concludes.

Fair organizers do tell us, they’re sad to see a top performer be unable to carry on, but they hope their rearrangements add to the excitement of the fair. “We’re all about adjusting and we’re expecting amazing crowds and the weather is just going to be one of those dream days and it’s a great way to close the fair,” says Danny Aguilar, Director of Marketing at the state fair. He adds, “Two more days and we’re excited and looking forward to wrapping things up and start immediate planning for 2022.”

We’re told there are still tickets on sale for ’38 Special’ and you can visit delawarestatefair.com to purchase your ticket, or head to the state fair to get one in person.

The show starts at 8 p.m. with fireworks following afterwards.
